Ok folks-can I probe your brains, delve into your psyche, and snag some opinions?
I got my partner info for the miniature booty swap and I'm debating fabric choices. I'm planning on a floral appliqué block surrounded by some kind of border. I don't usually pick borders until the center is finished-it seems to work out better if I wait and see what the top needs when the center is done.
I have my purple and green combo-there would also be a smidge of yellow in there-I forgot to put it in the photo. I don't have a focus type fabric for this one but I'm sure I can find something at the quilt store if I need to or I can do a fun pieced border with the purples and greens.
Then I have these lovely tulip FQ's and some coordinating fabrics. I adore these fabrics but I know orange and yellow don't do it for everyone.
So (this is where the probing comes in) if it was your quilt which color combo would you prefer? Purple and green? Orange and yellow? Both? Neither? (Oh please, please, please don't say neither-I don't want to dive back into my stash and look for more fabric.)

I personally love the tulip fabric, FWIW. From a design perspective, I guess I'd think about how it enhances or detracts from the applique you're planning. The really tulip-y print (the yellow and red one) might overwhelm a delicate applique... but might stand up to something a little more substantial. (Yeah, I know -- it's clear I don't do applique! I can't find the words to explain what I mean!) It might also be a more modern look, while the purple and green -- which are also lovely -- seem a little more traditional to me.
As surprising as this is to me, I would vote for the yellow/orange combo, rather than the purple. shocking I'm sure.
How about combining the colours. The purple, green and orange would look good together. That would get my vote.
Sorry that probably didn't help much.
love and hugs xxx
Hi - I'm in the Miniature Booty Swap, too! My vote would be the Purple & Green (Orange is my least favorite color in the universe)... but do what the sewing "force" tells you to do :) Good luck - I haven't decided what to do for my mini quilt yet...
Orange is my favorite color!!!So I'd pick the orange! Since it looks like 50/50 votes, I'd go by what you see on your partners blog (maybe you'll see in her quilts a color preference)
