Mardis Gras for Peggy

This happy little block is for Peggy's birthday month in my birthday block swap. Her theme was Mardis Gras . I wasn't sure how the colors would all play together but I think it actually turned out nicely. One of the best things about this swap was that if really challenged me to work with different blocks and color than I normally would. I signed up just because it sounded fun but it's really broadened my horizons as a quilter.

i totally agree with you...this swap has completely improved my quilting skills and challenged me to try new things. Before this swap i had never paper pieced, let alone designed my own pattern...ive also explored applique, and become fond of color combinations i might never have tried on my own. im almost sad to see it end, but excited to get to my Christmas Star quilt that i chose for my month :) Despite a few snags in the swap, that were quickly taken care of by all of the other generous quilters, this has been an incredible learning experience and a lot of fun! See you in blogland :)
